The meals are designed to inspire people living with cancer, to eat well, serve beautiful food and stay healthy. This cooking demonstration will take place on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 6pm.     Chef Christopher Tong has been invited to the beautiful Cheney Mansion to present an elegant menu perfect for Fall entertaining. You will learn how to prepare a complete three-course menu and come away with valuable tips and some great recipes. Chef Chris will conduct a cooking demonstration in the famous mansion’s kitchen that includes hands-on participation. It will take place on Monday, November 2 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Cheney Mansion, 220 Euclid Avenue, Oak Park, IL. Located 15 minutes from downtown Chicago. The fee is $70.00 per person. The gourmet menu includes: Soup: Wild Mushroom Bisque scented with White Truffle Oil Entrée: Pan seared Halibut with spicy Tomato Relish served with Vegetable Saffron Cous Cous and toasted Pistachio Nuts Dessert: Fresh Berries with Champagne Sabayon There will be time for questions and answers about shopping, ingredients, and preparation and then share in tasting the delicious results.     Chef Tong will present a cooking demonstration featuring locally produced seasonal ingredients offered by the Green City Market. The demonstration is on Saturday, October 3 at 10:30 a.m.. You will learn how to prepare Chef Tong’s delicious menu selections, and, of course, be able to taste them on the spot. The Green City Market is located at the south end of Lincoln Park between Clark and Stockton Drive (approximately 1750 N. Clark). The event is free and there is discounted parking ($9) at the Chicago Historical Society parking lot off Stockton Drive. Tickets must be validated. We hope to see you there!

    Once again, Chef Christopher Tong will share his culinary expertise, preparing a delicious dish with garden fresh ingredients during the annual Garden Chef Series. The Series promotes the Garden’s message of growing and using seasonal vegetables, fruits and herbs. Chef Chris will the use the spectacular open-air kitchen and amphitheater at the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden to present his cooking demonstration. Chef Tong will appear on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL.
