    Chef Christopher Tong of the upscale private gourmet dining service, My Private Chef, will demonstrate how to prepare a simple, yet elegant seafood recipe. Healthy eating is important for the body and the spirit. The meals in this cooking series are designed to inspire people living with cancer to eat well, serve beautiful food and stay healthy. The cooking demonstration is on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 6pm at Gilda’s Club Chicago. The club is located at 537 North Wells Street, Chicago. Chef Tong will prepare: Seared Sea Scallops served with Black Bean, Roasted Corn, Hearts of Palm and Tomato Salad. There will be time for questions and answers about shopping, ingredients, and preparation. And, of course, everyone gets a taste!

This is a splendid opportunity to increase your culinary knowledge. The Chef will demonstrate how to clean and prepare the ultimate gourmet favorite: Black Angus Beef Tenderloin.   • Chef Tong to Serve on the Panel at the Culinary Competition sponsored by Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP)

    Chef Christopher Tong, owner of the popular private chef and gourmet dining service, My Private Chef, will serve on a panel at the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) preliminary Cooking Competition for Scholarships for Chicago high school culinary students. He will observe and judge a group of students as they demonstrate several dishes, culinary techniques and skills. The event will be held at the Illinois Institute of Arts Chicago in Chicago, IL. Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) is a national nonprofit organization which specializes in enriching public school culinary programs by providing training for teachers and students, and preparing young people for careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry. C-CAP manages the largest independent high school culinary scholarship program in the United States. He will conduct a Winter soup cooking class at the Whole Foods Market Lakeview, 3300 North Ashland Avenue, Chicago. The cooking class will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 7-8:30 p.m. The cost is $35 per person.
