  • Enjoy a Taste of the Tropics With Chef Tong at Whole Foods Market, Lincoln Park

    Chef Chris returns to Whole Foods Market to present some delicious dishes with a tropical flair.

    Chef Tong's menu features:

    Brazilian Coconut Soup with Shrimp and Cilantro

    Grilled Tuna served with Avocado-Jicama Salad, Mango Chipolte

    Passion Fruit Mousse

    People who are casual cooks or lovers of gourmet food get to ask questions, discuss preparation and come away with fabulous recipes that you can try at home. Chef Chris will provide tips on shopping for the finest ingedients. And, everyone gets a taste.

    The cooking class is on the mezzanine level in the on-site cooking classroom at the Whole Foods Market in Lincoln Park, 1550 N. Kingsbury, Chicago. It will be held on Tuesday, April 25 from 7pm-9pm. The cost is $25.00

  • Holiday Entertaining Cooking Demonstration at Whole Foods Market

    Looking forward to the Holidays, Chef Chris has developed a marvelous assortment of recipes that your familiy and guests will applaud. He will present a cooking class featuring some deicious recipes perfect for Holiday entertaining. And, everyone gets to have a taste!

    Chef Tong's Holiday menu includes: 

    • Potato Leek Soup and Stilton Cheese

    • Pistachio crusted Rack of Lamb with Cabernet Sauce, Ratatouille and Sweet Potato Croquettes

    • Chocolate Mousse, Sea Salt, Blood Orange Olive Oil

  • My Private Chef presents a Gourmet Trick or Treat Experience at the Andersonville Dessert Crawl

    On Sunday, October 30, from 2-5 pm, Andersonville will welcome guests to enjoy a sweet stroll through this delightful neighborhood as they particiate in the Annual Dessert Crawl. The neighborhood event celebrates the festive spirit of fall. it's a gourmet Trick or Treat experience with delectable desserts at every turn.

    Chef Tong will be serving a delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Parfait with Chocolate Ganache, Whipped Cream and roasted Peanuts.

    Look for him on the CARAMEL APPLE ROUTE at one of his favorite wine shops, In Fine Spirits, 5418 N. Clark Street.

    This year, you can choose between TWO great routes. Tickets for one route are $25.00 or $30.00 purchased after October 27. (if available)

    Particiapants will pick up their Dessert Crawl "passport" at the Great Lakes Clinical Trials-Andersonville, 5149 N. Ashland Avenue and then proceed to the participating restaurants and shops for tasting-sized portions at each location.

    For the second year in a row, one dollar from each ticket sold goes to benefit Care for Real, Edgewater's Community Food Bank.

    Chef Christopher Tong of the upscale Chicago gourmet dining service, My Private Chef, will share a favorite bison recipe during Food Network Magazine weekend at Chicago Botanic Garden’s popular annual Garden Chef Series sponsored by the Colorado Tourism Bureau.

    Chef Tong will show how to make a delicious dish featuring Colorado bison.

    Bison Steak with Ancho Chile Blueberry Sauce and Sweet Mashed Potatoes

    Chef Chris will appear on Sunday, July 24 at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, Illinois. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first served basis.
