  • Chef Tong appears at 2016 Taste of Chicago on July 10!

    Our Chef Christopher Tong, one of Chicagoland’s most accomplished chefs and a favorite at Taste of Chicago will appear again this year presenting delicious recipes.

    His demonstration is scheduled for Sunday, July 10 at 3:30 p.m., at the Lifeway Foods Taste Kitchen on the northwest corner of Buckingham Fountain Plaza.

    Chef Tong will demonstrate how to prepare these delicious dishes:
    Cucumber Cilantro Zucchini Gazpacho (featuring Lifeway Kefir)
    Steamed Prince Edward Mussels in Thai Curry Sauce

    The 36th Annual Taste of Chicago is July 6-10 in Grant Park. Admission is free and festival hours are 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

  • Chef Tong Shares Summer Menu Ideas at Bloomingdale’s Home & Furniture Store, Medinah Temple

    One of Bloomingdale's favorite chefs, Chef  Chris Tong returns to present a delicious Summer cooking demonstration. He will serve some of his favorite Summer dishes.  And, you get to taste it all.

    Chef's menu: Watermelon Gazpacho; Caribbean Spiced Shrimp with Avocado-Jicama salad, Mango Chipotle Vinaigrette; Lemon Mousse with seasonal fruit

  • GET A TASTE OF SPRING WITH CHEF TONG AT THE WHOLE FOODS MARKET-LINCOLN PARK COOKING SCHOOL

    Monday, April 11, 2016 - 7:00pm


    Celebrate spring and attend a cooking demonstration hosted by the popular Chef Chris Tong, of the upscale Chicago-based private gourmet dining service, My Private Chef. He will present some delicious recipes perfect for spring entertaining. And, everyone gets to have a taste!

    The cooking class will be held on Monday, April 11 from 7pm-8:30pm. The class is on the mezzanine level in the on-site cooking classroom at the Whole Foods Market in Lincoln Park,1550 North Kingsbury, Chicago. The cost is $10.00 per person.

  • My Private Chef participates in Andersonville's Gourmet Trick or Treat Experience

    On Sunday, October 25, from 2-5 p.m., Andersonville will welcome guests to enjoy a sweet stroll through this delightful neighborhood as they participate in the Annual Dessert Crawl. 

    It’s a gourmet Trick or Treat experience with delectable desserts at every turn. Participating restaurants are sure to “wow” visitors with delicious and decadent gourmet desserts.

    Chef Chris Tong of My Private Chef, an upscale private chef and gourmet dining service, will be serving a delicious Dark Chocolate Mousse drizzled with Blood Orange olive oil and sea salt.

    Foodies and their friends will be flocking to the Chicago Botanic Garden's Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden for this day of great tastes and gorgeous presentations.

    Chef Chris will share how to make one of his favorite Latin influenced recipes at Chicago Botanic Garden's popular annual Garden Chef series.

    He will make a delicious Chimichurri Shrimp and create a savoury Lime-Basil Sangria.

    Chef Tong will give tips on ingredients and serving. And, everyone gets a taste.

    Chef Chris will appear on Sunday, September 25, 2015 at 1:30pm and 2:30pm in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden.

  • My Private Chef appears at Chicago's Green City Market

    Chef Christopher Tong, one of Chicagoland’s most accomplished chefs and a favorite of Chicago's Green City Market puts his culinary expertise on display as he presents a cooking demonstration featuring local seasonal ingredients.

    The demonstration is on Wednesday, August 26 at 10:30 am. Chef Chris will demonstrate how to prepare a delicious summertime dish.

    People who are casual cooks or lovers of gourmet food get to ask questions, discuss preparation, and come away with a great recipe to try at home. 

    The Green City Market is located at the south end of Lincoln Park between Clark and Stockton Drive. (approximately 1750 N. Clark) Admission is Free and there is discounted parking at the Chicago Historical Society parking lot off Stockton Drive. Tickets must be validated.
